What are the Benefits of Cacao?

Hey Love!

We all love chocolates, but did you know what are the Cacao benefits? They have the power to make every bad day better. We’ve all read how chocolate is good for our health. However, chocolates these days aren’t the same. They’re loaded with high calories, sugar, and animal products.

But, did you know there’s a better and far healthier alternative out there? Cacao!

This decadent chocolatey goodness is loaded with benefits. All you need to do is incorporate this superfood into your diet and enjoy its numerous benefits!

A lot of people are skeptical about raw cacao. What is it? Are the items that contain cacao powders also healthy?

So, what is this holy grail?

Cacao

Theobroma cacao is the botanical name of the cacao tree which is also called the food of the gods.

Cacao is an unprocessed chocolate superfood that is loaded with magnesium flavonoids, with the goodness of calcium, iron, zinc, magnesium, and more! When unroasted cocoa beans are cold-pressed, raw cacao comes into existence. However, the cacao doesn’t lose its benefits even after processing.

Cacao Powder Benefits

1. Magnasium

If you’re looking for something that is loaded with magnesium, look no further because your hunt ends here. Raw cacao contains magnesium, a mineral that is crucial for energy production, a healthy brain and nervous system.

Magnesium plays an important role in maintaining a healthy blood pressure.

2. Iron

Cacao helps you satisfy the iron needs of your body. It is a good source of iron and helps in building blood in your body. This further helps your body in the transportation of oxygen and various other minerals throughout the body.

3. Flavonoids

Flavonoids have high antioxidant activity. Raw cacao is a flavonoid-rich chocolate which is also linked to heart health benefits like reducing blood pressure, increasing vascular functions, and more.

4. PEA

Phenylethylamine (PEA) is a compound that is said to uplift your mood and increase energy. This also makes it the reason why people love chocolate so much.

Raw cacao is low on sugar and doesn’t contain any milk. This makes it the perfect alternative for those following a vegan diet or those who are milk-sensitive.

How to Eat Cacao

There are numerous ways in which raw cacao can be used. The market is filled with pre-made raw chocolate bars. However, at times, these contain natural sweeteners to accentuate the taste of the cacao with the help of coconut sugar or nectar.

If you buy the raw nibs of cacao beans or cacao powder, you can experience the best of its qualities. Mix it with something that has a natural sweetness to balance the bitter taste of the cacao, like in these Energetic Bites! People try to mix the nibs with a variety of dried fruits and nuts, and consume them like snacks or blend it and drink it like a smoothie or even a cacao frappe

Bring out the inner chef in you as you curate delicacies like smoothies, ice creams with frozen banana, berries, and cacao powder. Experience the real cacao bliss. The sweetness of the fruit along with the goodness of cacao makes it a treat.

Did you know this healthy alternative contains an average of 713% more nutrients than a regular store-bought chocolate bar? It boosts your mood and can be used to make some amazing snacks to indulge in as you give rest to those annoying sugar cravings. A sprinkle of cacao makes everything better!
